We humans love to organise our homes, offices and other recreational spaces. It is because we are social animals. We are exposed to many things in the world every day. Change is constant and should be adopted in our lives.
Do you ever feel the need to change something at home? Are you happy with clothes just lying around the place? Remember, a happy house is a happy you. We get attached to worldly possessions easily. We need to adopt a simple attitude of “letting go”.
Therefore in this post we are going to provide you with tips and get your mind churning with ideas so you can find a place for everything and enjoy more leg room you dreamed of.
Welcome Everything With Open Arms
Like we said before, humans want and need acceptance in this world. Therefore, we get attached to non-living things easily based on our perception and experience in the world. So, the first order of business is to take your hand and swipe everything off the canvas and start fresh.
Make a list of what “stays” and what “goes” – remember the stuff that matters.
If one doesn’t let go, one will remain with the clutter in the house forever. You’ve got to get rid of some of it first, even though I know this can be a daunting task.
Formulate a Calendar/Chart
The vision is to have a clean and tidy house isn’t it? Therefore in order to achieve nirvana, one must have smaller milestones. Form every day checklists, smaller goals, seek help from friends on how to organise your home. Start with the living room then go on to the other subordinate rooms. One step, one item at a time.
Challenge yourself to a one month cleaning program. See if you get the results out. You will soon notice the change you wish to see in your home.
We bet you can take the first step with great swagger. Let your creative juices and imagination run wild.
Big Storage Containers
Think Japan and China and if you visit their homes, you will notice they live with the basic necessities. Everything else is placed neatly and compactly in containers from the biggest to smallest. Storage containers recently have become a boon.
Remember these containers need to be washed and dried once every three months. Whatever the ad reads in the newspaper, dust collects and even the camphor tablets fade out eventually. When buying these new containers, always have a plan in mind and a place where you can store them.
You want to create less clutter and more space, not increase on it.
There are so many other ways in which you can contain clutter and yet keep a very hip and happening house. Donate to the needy and other charitable trusts; pass the old clothes to the younger ones in the family. Every product in your house has a second use. Either as containers or can be used in day to day activities.
Ultimately it comes down from years of experience and the constant bug of change. One will always want to make their home stand out in the neighbourhood. So invest time in planning your home, have a budget in place and let your imagination take over.
Are you ready to begin to get your home organized? Let’s begin!
